PFR Ventures brings Icos Capital Fund III, a EUR 50 M Agri-food and Cleantech innovation venture capital fund to Poland
Icos Capital Fund III, established by European venture capital firm - Icos Capital, will invest in scale-ups focused on boosting software and process technologies for manufacturing in agriculture, food and (bio-) chemical industry. The fund operates in CVC formula and is supported by three corporate investors: Nouryon, Bühler Group and Royal Cosun.
Venture capital investments value in Poland in 2019 exceeded PLN 1.2 billion
PFR Ventures, in cooperation with Inovo Venture Partners, has prepared an annual report summarising the the Polish venture capital (VC) market condition. The data show that 269 transactions were conducted in 2019, with 85 funds involved. They provided innovative Polish companies with capital worth over PLN 1.2 billion.
Polish VC market activity in 3Q19 summary
In the third quarter of 2019, VC funds made 26 investments on the Polish market, worth PLN 459 million in total. According to Invest Europe data, the value of transactions within this period only is higher than any other deal metric between 2010–2018. In total, VC funds has already invested over PLN 1 billion this year.
VC PFR funds have already signed agreements with start-ups for more than PLN 100 million
Venture Capital funds launched by PFR Ventures started to invest at the beginning of H2 2019 Until today, they have provided funding for 22 business entities with whom they have entered into investment agreements for 104 million. The target is to invest more than PLN 4 billion on the SME market by 2023.
VC Funds launched by PFR Ventures have invested the first PLN 40 million
PFR Ventures has already launched 29 venture capital funds. The company informed, during the impact’19 conference, that 5 of them have already made their first investments for the combined about of PLN 41.6 million 9 innovative companies have received financing offered by publicly financed funds
PFR NCBR CVC and PFR KOFFI invest in Cogito Capital
The Polish Development Fund and the National Centre for Research and Development have invested in the third fund within the framework of the PFR NCBR CVC Funds’ Fund managed by PFR Ventures provisioned by the National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR). The money will go to the management team of Cogito Capital Partners, in which PFR KOFFI - a programme focused on investments in international funds, invested previously.
